Why this recipe is gentle
Pear is one of the lowest-acid fruits, and brief cooking makes it gentler still. There is no fat, spice or citrus, just soft fruit with a whisper of vanilla.
General information, not medical advice or a treatment claim. Reactions are individual. If heartburn or reflux is frequent, severe or persistent, see a doctor.
Tips
- Peel and core the pears, since the skin is harder to digest.
- Small cooked portions may be tolerated differently than raw fruit, so start modest.
- Serve it lukewarm rather than fridge-cold.
