Two slices of spelt toast with cottage cheese, thin cucumber slices, and herbs on a light plate.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices spelt toast
  • 160 g lactose-free cottage cheese
  • 1/3 cucumber
  • 1 tbsp dill or parsley
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

  1. Toast the bread lightly.
  2. Stir the cottage cheese until smooth and spread it over the toast.
  3. Slice the cucumber thinly and arrange on top.
  4. Finish with herbs and a little salt.

Why this recipe is gentle

There is no onion, garlic, tomato, or citrus here, and the fat stays low thanks to cottage cheese instead of a rich spread. Cucumber and herbs keep it fresh and mild rather than sharp.

General information, not medical advice or a treatment claim. Reactions are individual. If heartburn or reflux is frequent, severe or persistent, see a doctor.

Tips

  • Raw cucumber sits harder with some people; steam or warm the slices briefly if that is you.
  • Toast the bread only lightly so it stays soft and easy to chew.
  • Keep the salt to a pinch and let the cottage cheese carry the flavor.
