Ingredients

  • 80 g rolled oats
  • 350 ml oat drink
  • 150 g plain skyr
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

  1. Simmer the oats with oat drink and a pinch of salt for 5 minutes until creamy.
  2. Take off the heat and stir in the skyr.
  3. Slice the banana, place on top and serve warm.

Why this recipe is gentle

The porridge skips acid, heat, onion and garlic and is only gently simmered, which keeps it comfortably mild. Plain skyr adds plenty of protein, backed up by the oats.

Tips

  • Well-ripened bananas tend to be milder than greenish ones.
  • Stir the skyr in after simmering so it stays creamy and does not curdle.
  • Fat level, portion size and personal triggers influence individual tolerance.
